This lantern was an exercise for learning how to work with bamboo skewers, glue, and thin paper. I had fun engineering the design. I learned a lot from it and implemented what I learned into my final for the module. This took me more than 24 hours to create.
This was my Final for the Gravity Lantern module. I used the same base shape to create a moon. Because of my exercise, I learned that when creating the moon shape every angle has to be precise, otherwise the shape will not come together. I used hot glue to create the creators and placed them on the inside of the moon.
Creating the hot glue circles was exciting. I had to find a way for them to keep their shape as well as take them off the surface they were made on. Using the metal chair I was sitting on I put dawn dish soap on the stool. I then made the hot glue circles on the chair. They cooled fast and slid right off the chair. the whole process was really fun.
For this Gravity lantern project, I thought about my pet bunny and how she defies gravity. She jumps so high despite being so chunky.  Overall this project took me more than 30 hours.
